{HERE}-Happy Engineers Day in India: SIR M.Visvesvaraya Birthday

Engineer's day is celebrated for the memories of SIR MOKSHAGUNDAM VISVESVARAYA (KCIE).He was well known and notable engineer in india. He was born on  15 september 1860. In 1884 he graduated from Poona College of Engineering with flying colors.He stood first in University Exams. He was recrurited by the government of Bombay without any interview as he stood top in the university. He was appointed as Assistant Engineer in Public Works Department  and there is an Autobiography of visvesvaraya named "Memories of my working life".

He served as Dewan of Mysore and was considered as all round development of karnataka.
He built many dams and bridges which were biggest in those days. One among them are KRS(Krishna Rja Sagar ) dam which was Asia's biggest dam in those days.
By the end of the first decade of the 20th century , He had begun to get lots of challenges all around the world. And he proved himself as a successful Engineer.
Even after his retirement from engineering and administrative service, sir MV has involved in national committees and advisory bodies . He worked hard for engineering and national development all over in India . The Government of India awarded him the Nation's highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna ,in recognition of his dedication and contributions towards engineering and development of India.

Engineer's Day is celebrated on different days in different countries.
